STANDARD EQUIPMENT

Advanced Control Handle. All Big Joe Power Drive Intermediate (PDI) models come equipped with the industry's most versatile control handle. Speeds may be controlled with a twist grip or thumb control. Includes 3-speed forward and reverse detent action speed control; thumb control of horn. "Belly-Button" Reversing Switch.  A large reversing switch, built into the control handle is designed to reverse truck direction on contact with the operator. Versatile Braking Systems.  Two-way mechanical linkage actuates an automotive-type disc brake when the handle is positioned in the top or bottom of its arc. "Dead-man" feature returns the handle to its upright position, cuts out travel power, and auto-mechanically engages the brake if the handle is inadvertently released. Electrical System. Fully fuse protected, heavy-duty, 100 ampere industrial contactors with high current draw for three speeds forward and reverse. Modular drive control panel allows easy access of silver alloy tips for service and replacement. All wiring is coded and has quick disconnect terminals. Infinitely Variable, Transistorized Speed Control. Solid-state, infinitely variable transistor speed controller utilizing a proven MOSFET power section, makes for smooth starts & stops while minimizing battery consumption. Available hand held programmer accesses fault history & runs diagnostics while allowing customization of creep speed, acceleration rate, maximum speed & plug braking settings. High Strength Construction.  Power section, base legs, and mast are seam-welded to form a single piece frame. This unitized construction resists operational stresses and provides a rugged housing to protect truck components. Industrial Rated Batteries. Contain heavy plates and separators. Built to withstand deep-discharge and recharging. Battery compartments provide easy access to batteries for maintenance. Chrome Plated Lift Cylinder. Provides smooth lift/lower performance and long seal life. Telescopic Mast. Mast construction is fully-rollered, inter-locked structural steel Channel and I-Beam for strength, rigidity and long-wearing performance. Emergency Power Disconnect. Externally mounted quick-release battery disconnect is readily accessible. Panel mounted with a large handle to remove all power from truck circuits in the event of an emergency. Battery Charger. Internally mounted, fully automatic "smart" charger, plugs into standard 110 volt AC outlet. High Speed Cut-off. Automatic cut-off circuit locks out high speed when forks are elevated above 15". Pressure-compensated flow control valve. Located at base of lift cylinder, regulates lowering speed.

OPTIONS

• Adjustable Straddle Option.  Available for the straddle I.D. range of 38" to 50". Adjusts in 4" increments. Will allow the truck to work with a variety of pallet sizes. Ideal if future pallet requirements may change.
• Full Free Lift. Allows fork carriage to extend to the top of the first stage before the second stage begins to extend. For lifting in areas limited by overhead clearance. Reduces lift and collapsed height 2" (consult factory).

PDM - Power Drive Medium-Duty Straddle Trucks

STANDARD EQUIPMENT

• Channel and I-Beam Mast. High grade steel mast construction features interlocked channel and I-beam design with roller bearing surfaces. Mast and carriage is of fully-rollered construction for smooth, long-wearing performance. This type of construction accommodates high lifting stresses and maintains load stability.
• V-Boxed Load Wheels on Straddle Legs. This improved straddle leg design not only protects load wheels, but its angular shape aids in pushing empty pallets or other obstructions to the side and away from the truck's work path.

PDH - Power Drive Heavy-Duty Straddle Trucks

STANDARD EQUIPMENT

• Interlocked I-beam Mast. The premium steel mast construction features interlocked steel channel and I-beam design with rollerbearing surfaces for long mast life. Interlock channel and I-beam mast accommodates high lifting stresses and maintains load stability. 
• Special Alloy Forks. Heavy-duty I.T.A. forks are heat-treated alloy steel and formed to preserve full strength at the fork heel. Bottom taper of 14 inches and beveled fork tips allow easy pallet entry and exit.
• I.T.A. Class II Carriage.  I.T.A. Class II Carriage makes changing from forks to attachments simple. No tools or pin removal are required. Changing outside fork dimension is equally easy.
• Wheels. 4" polyurethane load wheels standard on all models. 3", 6" and tandem wheels are optional. 4" tandem standard on 4000 lb. trucks. Standard  drive tire is 10-1/2" x 5" solid rubber, lug-type cushion tires. Drive wheel traction force and steering effort remain constant regardless of payload.
